The Storyteller: Parables of Jesus

Are you in a contractional relationship with God or are you in covenant with Him? In Jesus' story about the laborers in the vineyard, Jesus wants us to know that the Good, Eternal Father will always fill in the gaps, pick up the slack, show mercy, and take care of those who are in a covenant relationship with Him, NO MATTER WHAT! Perhaps we are not the laborers who were "selected to work at the beginning of the work day" after all, but in comparison to the Master of the Vineyard, we are instead those eleventh hour workers who are benefitting from the work of our great God; He is the the same generous and persistent Master every day, always, and He is willing and desires to be generous to all who come to Him, in the hopes that those who come to work will come home to stay.

God is not looking for contractors; He is looking for covenant. And there is no lack of abundant mercy and blessings within His covenantal love.
