Laban's Deception and God's Plan
Laban’s deception at the expense of Jacob was an unwitting blessing in the context of God’s promise to Abraham and His great plan for Israel. Through the four women given to Jacob as wives, came the twelve sons of Israel and the beginning of the nation of Israel. In fact, Jacob's family grew so quickly that as he approached the end of his life, his family already numbered seventy people (Genesis 46:27).
