Lesson 2 - June 12

In many places in the bible, numbers are offered as a symbol of something else. Often, the number 6 is meant to suggest something incomplete. Since seven is often considered a perfect (i.e. complete) number, then six connotes the idea of falling short.  Hence, the six days of creation do not represent a completed work to God. He has always considered His creation a work in progress. As we continue our Genesis study, we will see how God patiently continues His work of creation.
