Abraham's Mistrust

Our prejudice often comes out when we are dealing with people we’ve just met.  As Abraham traveled to the south, he encountered the kingdom of Gerar and drew premature conclusions about what those people were like (Genesis 20:11).  The fact was that, King Abimelek was an honorable man.  He did not violate God’s law in dealing with Abraham, and God protected him from committing sin with Sarah.  On the other hand, Abraham’s got caught up in a lie that stemmed from his mistrust of these Canaanite strangers.
