Divorce Recovery Class

Wednesday Nights @ 6:30pm

We would like to invite you or anyone you know who has experienced a divorce to our Divorce Recovery class. This class is designed to bring healing and hope to those who are dealing with the pains and trials of divorce. The class meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm. Children and teens are welcome to attend the children and youth group classes during the same time.  The registration is $30.

 

Men’s retreat

September 20 & 21

The area-wide men’s retreat is on September 20-21.  To claim your spot you can go to www.ponderosachristiancamp.org.  It will be a great weekend.  Please plan on joining us.

 

Million Dollar Sunday

Sunday, September 22

Next Sunday is Million Dollar Sunday! Few have realized the true freedom that comes from knowing God’s Word. EEM has a wide variety of opportunities to share true freedom only experienced through knowing Christ.

EEM will continue to fulfill thousands of requests for Bibles and Bible-based materials in over 20 languages and in over 30 nations. 

Join us next Sunday, Sept. 22nd for the Million Dollar Sunday campaign to share God’s Word with Eastern Europe and beyond in 2019.

Our New Sister

We are blessed to call Krystle Villasenor a new sister in Christ. Last Sunday Krystle declared Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Please take the chance to congratulate Krystle and welcome her to the body of Christ.

 

Christmas Cantata

October 4

Every year, our brothers and sisters from the Gracias Choir give us free tickets to their Christmas Cantata performance on October 4th. It is a spectacular show including a musical “Gift of the Magi” and the Nativity Story. Free tickets are available in the church office.

 

Takn Small Groups

The young adults small group, Takn, is now meeting on Wednesdays at 6:30 in room 201.

 

Schleyer Small Group

The Schleyer small group will meet tonight for a potluck at 5 pm followed by the movie WAR ROOM at 6 pm. Everyone is invited.

 

NMCCH

This is the last week to send in your NMCCH Change Cans and household items. You can place your donations in the collection box in the Family Center. Items will be picked up on Sept. 19th.

The NMCCH, in Portales, gives those in the Residential, Single Parent, and Adoptive Homes a foundation for a good life, to go out and make a positive difference in our world.  In May, 170 beds were filled for children and single parent families.  Evangelistic bible studies are ongoing and bearing fruit; benevolence and charity is distributed.  Thank you for helping feed and clothe more needy people than ever before.

 

Chocolate Basket

Tommye Hanna is providing a chocolate basket to be raffled at the Bling Show October 18– 19.  The past 2 years have revealed that people really love chocolate and the basket does really well, thanks to all your delicious donations. To donate look for Tommye and hand over that beautiful chocolate! 

 

ACCH Auction

The Albuquerque Christian Children's Home Annual Holiday Affair Benefit Dinner and Auction is just around the corner! Saturday, November 16 at 5 pm at the Embassy Suites. Tickets are on sale now! Talk with an Auction representative from your church to buy tickets, call our office at (505) 898-5520 to purchase tickets over the phone, or go to our website at acch4kids.org to purchase tickets online.

Also, we are looking for baskets to place in our Auction! If an individual or a group from your church would like to do a themed basket we would love it! Baskets are themed in many ways, such as a men's basket, coffee lovers basket, and so much more! Baskets are a fun way to contribute to the Home and provide for our children. Have fun building baskets!

 

Prayer Requests

Carol Cole had emergency surgery last week. She is home and recovering.

Paige Harris, niece of Joe and Dawn Schrader, is having extreme health problems, including congestive heart failure. Paige is a mother to three young children. Please keep the family in your prayers.

Dan Scott continues to need our prayers regarding his health and comfort.

Ron Holloman, Roger’s father, will hopefully be released into rehab this weekend after his triple bypass surgery this past week.

David Carpenter was released from  rehab on Monday.

Sharlene Parr, Daughter of Winetta and Ira Parr, is recovering from surgery in Amarillo, TX.

Sue McCall is in room 235 at Advanced Healthcare at 2701 Richmond Dr. NE 87107.

Etta Love is dealing with some health complications from a previous surgery.

Small Group
September 15

Please plan on joining us for some great study, fellowship and food as we begin a new school year of Small Group Studies. I can’t wait to see what we learn together. I’ll have the food ready, however bring a board game for the first small group of the season.

 

Fall retreat
October 4-6

It’s that time of year! We are headed up to Ponderosa for some fun, fellowship and an all around good time. The cost will be $30 and that includes a shirt and countless memories. If you haven’t done so yet please sign-up by this Friday so I can order shirts and food. This year we will also have other youth groups joining us, it is a great time to come and fellowship.
