From Rick’s Desk
Vera and I are worshiping this morning in Phoenix, AZ with our daughter, son-in-law, and two of our grandsons. We don’t get to see them often, but what a joy fills your heart when you get to see your children and grandchildren! Thanks to Garrett and Alan for filling in for me. I feel so blessed to have these and others who love to preach the word and have great things to share. Mountainside is extremely blessed in this way. Vera and I both want to thank you for allowing us to have time away to rest and relax. I will be back in the office on Oct. 14.
We extend our sympathy to the Schrader family. Joe’s mom, Margaret Ann Schrader (86) passed away on Friday morning. The funeral is Saturday, Oct. 12. Details to follow.
You may notice many missing faces this morning. The youth group, as well as many parents and volunteers, are up at Ponderosa Christian Camp for the annual Teen Retreat. They will return later today.
Million Dollar Sunday
Thank you for generously participating in Million Dollar Sunday. This is the last week Mountainside will be accepting cash or check donations. Please make checks out to Mountainside Church of Christ with “EEM” in the memo. Or you can go to milliondollarsunday.org to donate online.
If you would like to donate chocolate to Mountainside’s Chocolate Basket to be raffled at the Bling Show October 18 & 19, please contact Tommye Hanna.
There’s an App For That
The Mountainside Church App is available today! The app is a helpful tool that includes, a digital bulletin, online giving, a member directory, sermon notes, volunteer schedules, and more! We highly recommend our members download the app to stay informed and to use as an aid in our various ministries. Instructions on how to access the app can be found on the inside of the bulletin as well as post cards in the foyer. We will also have a “help desk” located in the foyer to answer any of your questions.
Divorce Recovery Class
The Divorce Recovery Class is ongoing every Wednesday night at 6:00pm.
Thank you everyone for the gifts, meals, well wishes, and especially you prayers as we welcomed Addie in such a memorable way and have adjusted to being a family of four.

By the time you read this we will almost be finished with our Fall Retreat. We hosted over 90 people at Ponderosa over the weekend. I hope and pray the message that what we do is “For the Life of the World” FLOW, is something all our group can take home. Be sure to pick up your family member at 4pm here at Mountainside this afternoon.
Please plan on joining us tonight for some great study, fellowship and food as we begin a new school year of Small Group Studies. I can’t wait to see what we learn together. I’ll have the food ready, bring your willingness to be open and let God’s word change the way we think.
