From Rick’s Desk
Vera and I are heading back from a wonderful visit with our daughter, son-in-law, and two of our grandsons in Arizona. We want to thank you for allowing us to have time away to rest and relax. I would also like to thank Alan for filling in for me today and Garrett for covering last week. It is such a blessing to have these and others who love to preach the word and have great things to share.
Services for Margaret Schrader will be held on Saturday, October 12, at 10:00 am at Ridgecrest Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
There’s an App For That
The Mountainside Church App is now available. In fact, you can follow along with Alan’s sermon notes, view the bulletin, and give directly from your phone all while sitting in church this morning. The app has other useful tools such as a member directory and volunteer schedules. We highly recommend our members download the app to stay informed and to use as an aid in our various ministries. Instructions on how to access the app can be found on the inside of the bulletin as well as post cards in the foyer. We will also have a “help desk” located in the foyer to answer any of your questions.
The next Men’s Breakfast is this Saturday, October 19th at 7:30am.
We extend our sympathy to Lance and Cindy, Bronson and Elaine, and the entire Darnell family. Lance and Bronson’s mother, Babetta (Kay) Darnell, passed away on Monday night after a long battle with cancer.
This is the last chance to donate to Mountainside’s Chocolate Basket for this weekend’s Bling Show. Please contact Tommye Hanna with questions.
The Albuquerque Christian Children's Home Annual Holiday Affair Benefit Dinner and Auction is Saturday, November 16 at 5 pm at the Embassy Suites. Tickets can be purchased at acch4kids.org or by calling (505) 898-5520.
Also, we are looking for donations of themed baskets to place in our Auction! Themes can range from a men's basket, coffee lovers basket, and so much more! Baskets are a fun way to contribute to the Home and provide for our children. Have fun building baskets!
Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat is on October 26th from 12-3pm. This is always a fun event for the whole family. Talk to Cindy Darnell for more information.
Thank you all so much for all the prayers. The prayer quilt has kept me warm and given me comfort. Thanks to all the ladies who do such a wonderful ministry. Continued prayers are appreciated as I still have a long road ahead.
